Saint Mark – UMC – Contemporary Worship Addition – Northport, Alabama

This project is a 2-story, 19,200 SF addition to Saint Mark – United Methodist Church in Northport, Alabama.  The 9,600 SF lower level includes a dining room for 100, 8 large classrooms, a multipurpose room, laundry room, bathrooms and locker rooms.   The 9,600 SF upper level is the new contemporary worship space for 200 featuring a large stage and backstage area and centralized sound booth.  The upper level addition is also accessible on grade from an existing parking lot and includes a covered drop off lane, prominent covered entrance, large gathering hall with coffee area and bathrooms.  The goal of the new addition was to blend with the brick and stone building materials of the other campus buildings while also bringing a new and “cool” look to the contemporary worship space.
