When Renea and I first saw 124 Woodmont Drive, we loved everything about the vintage 1958 house with one exception. The kitchen was too small and was like a snapshot in time to an era where the kitchen was not the focal point of the house.  With low ceilings and small tight spaces, the only bright spot was the adjacent outdoor covered sitting porch.  Even the before photograph was more appropriately taken in black and white.  After gutting the existing kitchen and taking in the outdoor porch and adding more windows, a new warm and open gathering space emerged.  With bright clean finishes and a central island to complement the natural light the kitchen was brought into the modern age while keeping a touch of reclaimed wood to give it the warmth of home.   It has become the preferred gathering spot when friends or family come to visit.
