As the principal and owner of the firm, Mr. Lucy is responsible for managing, designing, producing and providing construction contract administration services for the firm’s projects.  Tim is a LEED AP and has worked to implement sustainable design concepts into his design methodology.  He has completed complex projects including Housing, Healthcare, laboratories, classrooms, office, municipal, retail and industrial project types.  He has been in charge of daily design decisions and team coordination of both new buildings and extensive renovation projects, consistently meeting and exceeding the Owner’s goals, schedule and budget expectations for these projects.

EXPERIENCE

University of Alabama -Brewer Porch Children’s Residential Care Facility Tuscaloosa, AL. Principal-in-Charge for this 50,000 SF building which will provide housing for clients with emotional disturbances, mental illness or autism and will include classrooms, bedrooms, offices, training rooms, a computer room, reception area and a kitchen and cafeteria.

Madison Park – Auburn, AL
Principal in charge for this 50-acre student residential village with over 400 student condominium housing units.

The Village, Auburn University – Auburn, AL
Served as a Principal assisting the Design Team for Schematic Design sketches for this $70 million new Student Residence Community which will housed 1,700 students in six buildings.

Auburn University – Hotel and Conference Center – Porte Cochere Addition. Project Architect for the schematic design and presentation rendering for a proposed $250,000 porte cochere addition to the existing Hotel located in Auburn, Alabama

Riverwalk Restaurant Fit up – Tuscaloosa, AL
Served as Principal in charge for the 3,709 SF restaurant fit-up on the Black Warrior River. The project included inside dining for approximately 114, a bar that seats 17 and outside dining for 56 that overlooks the river. The exterior also featured two fire pits and casual seating for 20. Also included in the design is a pizza oven, (4) single fixture uni-sex toilets, a kitchen area with freezers and storage and an office.

Milagros Grille and Coffee Shop – Tuscaloosa, AL. Project Manager for the 3,900 SF interior fit-up for an upscale southwestern restaurant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

DCH – RMC – Starbucks Coffee Shop – Tuscaloosa, AL Principal-in-Charge for this $116,000 renovation of an existing vending area off of the main entry corridor of the Hospital into a new upscale Starbucks’ coffee sales counter. Design also includes a smaller separated vending area and counter seating for patrons.

Schlumberger – Pathfinder Facility – Oklahoma City, OK
Served as the principal in charge for this 110,700 SF, Approximately $6M PEMB office and shop building. The building includes 20,000 SF of two-story office space including break room, conference area, and toilet and locker areas. The Shop building included a work area, technician area, storage parts, a machine shop, tool wash, and a receiving /disassembly area.

Schlumberger BOD – Cheyenne, WY
The scope of the project consists of a 15,000 SF PEMB Base on Demand shop building that included a equipment storage area and a truck wash bay. The project also included a complex of modular building units comprising offices, restrooms, locker room, break room and training rooms.

United Engine Manufacturing Facility – Oklahoma City, OK
Served as Principal in charge for the 120,000 SF, Approximately $8M Tilt-up Concrete building with a steel framed internal structural system. The building includes 4,000 SF of two-story office space including offices, a break room, conference areas, and toilet and locker areas. The building also featured a two bay, drive-thru, engine horsepower testing bay with an overhead steel clad control to monitor testing from above.

Schlumberger Wells Services Operations Facility – Bulk Storage – San Antonio, TX
Served as the Principal in charge for this project which consisted of minimal selective demolition and renovation of the existing office area including re-laminating existing millwork, installing new break room millwork and plumbing for a new sink and drinking fountain and cleaning of existing lighting and plumbing fixtures. Also included was the construction of a new cement lab and office including new millwork and sinks. Finally the project included a High Pressure High Temperature Lab with CMU walls and a concrete slab roof and a stand-alone HVAC system for the cement lab and the HP/HT lab.

Schlumberger Maintenance Facility – San Antonio, TX
The scope of this project consists of a 58,491 SF Office/Maintenance facility with 46,426 SF on the main level and a 12,065 SF mezzanine. Building B is a 4,524 SF open Fuel Island with a tank containment pit and three drive lanes. Building C is a 9,200 SF three bay manual wash building and Building D is a 1,380 SF Driver’s building.

Schlumberger Wells Services Facility – Cement Plant – San Antonio, TX
The scope of this project consisted of the construction of a new Cement Silo slab, three adjacent on grade scales, a new 20’x70’ Control Room and Material Storage building and a new Oxidizer Storage building. Also included was minor new site work including a new gated entry system.

Schlumberger Wells Services Facility – Sand Plant and Rail – San Antonio, TX
The scope of this project consists of the construction of a new Sand Silo slab, a new 12’x45’ Control Room. Also included was new site work.

Schlumberger – Central Maintenance Facility – Cheyenne, WY
The scope of the project consists of a 54,890 SF pre-engineered metal building that includes a 9,600 SF, one story office component, five maintenance bays, a test iron bay, a single manual wash bay, two service bays with pits and a Third Party FM office area. Also included is a crane system in the shop area with four 10 ton cranes.

Schlumberger Maintenance Facility – El Reno, OK
The scope of the project consists of a 58,491 SF Office/Maintenance facility with 46,426 SF on the main level and a 12,065 SF mezzanine. Building B is a 4,524 SF open Fuel Island with a tank containment pit and three drive lanes. Building C is a 9,200 SF three bay manual wash building and Building D is a 1,380 SF Driver’s building.

Schlumberger Maintenance Facility – Midland, TX
The scope of the project consists of several pre-engineered metal buildings including Building A is a 63,385 SF Office/Maintenance facility 51,320 SF on the main level and a 12,065 SF mezzanine. The maintenance area consists of twelve mechanic bays and two service bays with below grade service trenches. Building B is a 4,524 SF open Fuel Island with a tank containment pit and three drive lanes. Building C is a 9,200 SF three bay manual wash building and Building D is a 1,380 SF Driver’s building.

Schlumberger BOD – Midland, TX
The scope of the project consists of a complex of modular building units comprising offices, restrooms, locker room, break room and training rooms and a 16,185 SF pre-manufactured large-span fabric Base on Demand structure for truck maintenance.

Schlumberger Denton Locker Room – Denton, TX
The scope of the project consists of a 1,345 SF locker room renovation converting shop space into a new locker room for 104 lockers. The building is a mixed-use occupancy with a one hour separation between the locker room area and the warehouse.

Schlumberger Sand & Cement Plant – El Reno, OK
The scope of the project consists of a sand plant and rail facility with four railroad spurs and one future spur with conveyors, silos and nine 540 SF control buildings, a 17,500 SF cement plant facility with testing labs and a 15,000 SF bulk storage facility. All buildings are to be pre-engineered metal buildings. The project also includes some demolition of the existing facility.

Schlumberger Chemical Storage & Cement Facility – Williston, ND
The project is for two buildings and an oxidizer storage building. The buildings breakdown as follows:
Building A: Chemical Storage building – 33,882 SF, one story with liquid storage tanks and revetted truck filling areas under canopies on the corner of the building.
Building B: Cement Storage building – 17,273 SF, one story and mezzanine with a test lab, cement lab, Lab office, restrooms, lockers and break room.
Building C: Oxidizer Storage building – A CMU-walled oxidizer storage building.

Schlumberger BOD – South Heart, ND
The scope of the project consists of a 15,000 SF PEMB Base on Demand shop building that included a equipment storage area and a truck wash bay. The project also included a complex of modular building units comprising offices, restrooms, locker room, break room and training rooms.

Schlumberger – Cottondale, AL
Project Architect for the two building complex. This project included an 8,400 SF office and production facility and a 4,000 SF warehouse.

1030 Office Building at Lakeshore Crossings. Project Architect for a 60,000 SF speculative office building for office/warehouse tenants. The building is the third completed in a 75-acre office park. Its steel frame with tilt-up concrete wall panels incorporates a complex reveal pattern to coordinate with the blue glass and mullion patterns and nicely complements a stained band at the base.

AIG/Baker – Corporate Headquarters. Project Architect for this fast-tracked, 50,000 SF office building that was completed on schedule and within the Owner’s budget.

Borgers– Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Project Architect for the $1.2 Million, 30,000 SF office and auto-component production facility to serve Mercedes Benz, located in Brookwood, Alabama. The German company manufactures door panel systems.

Cypress Point / Pearson Prince Law Firm – Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Cypress Point Office Park’s 15,000 SF building, which is located in a heavily wooded area adjacent to the Black Warrior River, was designed to have a rustic look. Attorney offices occupy both floors of the building, separating the office areas and sharing the public spaces of conference rooms and reception areas. Cost: $4.4 million.

Tuscaloosa County IDA – Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This 108,000 SF tilt-up concrete office/warehouse was built by Tuscaloosa County for a speculative tenant.

Eberspaecher– Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Project Architect for the $1.5 Million, 34,000 SF office and auto-component production facility to serve Mercedes Benz, located in Cottondale, Alabama. The German company manufactures exhaust systems.

Auburn Public Library. Project Manager for the new 27,000 SF Public Library. The project was completed within the Owner’s very tight building budget of $2.7 million and featured a naturally lit clerestory atrium and entry rotunda.

Auburn Library Expansion – Auburn, AL Project Manager for this 12,000 SF, $1.7 million addition to the Auburn Library.

Trussville Library Renovation – Trussville, Alabama. Project Manager for the $1 million addition and renovation of the existing public library, which doubled in size to 14,000 SF and featured a centralized entry and circulation area.

UA Gorgas Library Multi-Cultural Room. Principal-in-Charge for this renovation of the 16,000 SF Multi-Cultural Room in the University of Alabama’s Main Library.

North Shelby County Library, AL Project Manager for a two-story, 22,750 SF, $3 million library for North Shelby County. This library was nestled into the foothills of Double Oak Mountain, which dictated the two-story design and prompted the use of a natural stacked stone base.

Auburn City Hall – Post Office Renovations. Project Architect for the 12,000 SF, $1.7 million renovation of the old 1930’s Post Office into the new Auburn City Hall. As Auburn City Hall, the project included a two-story addition and opening back up the central great hall space, recapturing the natural clerestory light that had been covered.
Jubilee Square. Project Architect for the $10 Million, 400,000 SF Retail Center located on Forest Lake in Daphne, Alabama. The project included the shell building design as well as a Steinmart, TJ Maxx, Pier One, and miscellaneous shops.

River Village Office Park & Retail Development. Project Architect for the schematic phase of a 48,000 SF office building addition for Vesta Insurance located in Birmingham, Alabama. Project included an ATM kiosk and Cigar Bar renovations.

Harrisonburg Crossings. Project Manager for a 165,000 SF retail development in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The project included the shell building design and construction including Barnes and Noble, Bed Bath and Beyond, and miscellaneous shops.

The Village at Lee Branch Phase II. Project Manager for Phase II of an existing retail development in Shelby County, Alabama. Work consisted of 62,000 square feet of one and two-level shops with associated hardscape, tree deck and terraces.

Vestavia City Center. Project Manager for a 105,000 SF retail renovation of an existing retail center and parking deck located in Vestavia, Alabama. Complex project involved opening up the existing structure to create an open air center above the existing deck.

Vestavia Strip Center Renovations. Project Manager for the 53,500 SF retail shell renovations to an existing reflective glass, 1970’s strip center located in Vestavia, Alabama.

Woods & Water Outdoor Store. Project Architect for the $ 2.3 Million, 46,000 SF outdoors store located on Skyland Blvd. in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The rustic, stone and exposed timber structure features a high clerestory atrium and hundreds of stuffed mounts.

Main Regional Office – Dallas, Texas. Project Manager for a 12,000 SF, 2-story, steel framed, brick and precast concrete Regional Office and Branch.

UAB Branch Renovations – Birmingham, AL. Project Architect for a 6,000 SF interior renovation of the existing branch bank to incorporate the new prototype layout, teller line and interior finishes.

Spanish Fort Branch Renovations – Mobile, AL. Project Architect for an interior renovation of the existing branch bank to incorporate the new prototype layout, teller line and interior finishes.

Mesquite Branch Renovations – Dallas, TX. Project Manager for an interior renovation of the existing branch bank to incorporate the new prototype layout, teller line and interior finishes.

Belleview Branch Renovations – Pensacola, FL. Project Manager for an interior renovation of the existing branch bank to incorporate new officers, teller line and interior finishes.

DCH RMC-Surgery Suite Renovation, Tuscaloosa, AL. Associate Architect in charge of construction administration services for the $11 million, Surgery Suite renovation for the 610 bed DCH Regional Medical Center. He served as project architect managing the 2-year, 5-phase, project and serves as the primary communication liaison between the Construction Manager and Owner, the Prime Architect and the Design Team. The project consisted of a three story addition and over 34,000 SF of interior renovation to complete 13 new Operating rooms, sterile core, Pre-op, and Recovery spaces.

DCH RMC-DaVinci Operating Room, Tuscaloosa, AL. Principal-in-Charge for a 705 SF, state of the art operating room at DCH Regional Medical Center to house the da Vinci Si – Surgical System. The room features a laminar flow air distribution system, a fluid applied urethane resin flooring system, stainless steel casework, and a fully integrated, high definition digital imaging and voice activated command system.

DCH RMC – Northwest Tower – Three-story Shell Addition. Project Architect for the three-story concrete framed, brick clad shell building addition. The $1,000,000 addition was completed to allow for future ICU Renovations on two floors, a Chapel, and Conference rooms on the main floor.

DCH RMC – Renovations to Level One and Two -Intensive Care Units. Project Manager for the 23,064 SF, interior build out. The $3,219,000 project consisted of two, 16-bed floors featuring two, twin Nurse Stations at either end, organized for optimal views to every room. A corridor loop connected the Nurse stations and created in internal core of support spaces for the floor.

DCH-RMC-Renovations to Level Six North Nursing Unit. Project Architect for a 16,000 SF Inpatient Nursing Unit Renovation. The $1,500,000 renovation featured extensive demolition and room re-configuration to enlarge a centralized Nurse Station and add a 4-Room VIP suite.

DCH-RMC-Renovations to Level Five North-Nursing Unit. Project Architect for an 11,000 SF Inpatient Nursing Unit Renovation modeled after the 6th Floor but with less demolition and no VIP suites. The $785,000 renovation featured an enlarged, centralized Nurse Station and typical patient room finish and casework upgrades.

DCH-RMC-Renovations to Level Four North – Long Term Acute Care Unit. Project Architect for a 12,000 SF Long Term Acute Care Unit Renovation for leased separate hospital. The $800,000 renovation was similar to the prototypical floor renovation with minor adjustments to better suite the LTAC unit.

DCH-RMC-Renovations to Level Three North-Women’s Center. Project Architect for a 28,000 SF Labor and Delivery Floor Renovation. The $755,000 renovation featured labor suite finish upgrades and corridor reconfigurations to better organize the floor and establish a new large central nurse station. The project also featured two smaller nurse stations at the remote ends of the floor with similar detailing to tie the unit together.

DCH – RMC – CT Scanner Renovation. Project Architect for the addition of a CT Scanner suite in the existing imaging unit for the Hospital. The $96,000 project consisted of converting an old computer room and file alcove into an additional Scanner room and control booth.

DCH – RMC – Angiography Suite Renovation. Project Architect for a new Angiography room, enlarged control station and support space. The $257,000 renovation added a second suite to an existing adjacent suite and enlarged the common control station.

DCH – RMC – Elevator Lobby Master plan. Schematic design for a project to organize the flow of public elevator traffic and essential staff circulation paths by eliminate an old and often out-of-order centralized escalator that only goes 3 floors, and replacing it with a new bank of elevators and lobby that connects all 7 floors of the Hospital and also becomes an exterior element with a glass curtain wall tower and open centralized Lobbies with views to the east.

DCH – RMC – Main Level – Mammography Suite. Project Architect for a small Mammography suite located in the main level imaging area consisting of two Mammography rooms, waiting, dark room, office and support space. The $50,000 renovation included new entry door and signage for the suite and interior finish upgrades.
