This project was completed while Tim Lucy was a partner at a previous firm, but was designed and detailed in its entirety through bid and construction documents.  The project was a $40 Million veterans home and included 256 total beds.  The nursing unit beds were clustered in 12 room “houses” with their own living room, kitchen, and outdoor porch.  Then houses were grouped in “neighborhoods” which were clustered around the centralized “town center” which featured a large fireplace and nearby dining room, salon, library, chapel and sports bar.  Additionally, the campus featured an Alzheimer patient unit, independent living apartments and individual garden areas between neighborhoods to maximize views from the rooms as well as outdoor spaces for the veteran’s to enjoy.
